My Experience with Surfshark VPN

In today’s hyper-connected world, protecting your online privacy isn’t just smart—it’s essential. That’s where Surfshark VPN comes in. Known for its affordability, user-friendly design, and strong privacy features, Surfshark has quickly become a favorite among casual users and tech-savvy folks alike. But is it the right VPN for you? Let’s dive into the pros and the cons.

Is Surfshark the right VPN for you? What is it? What does it do? Is it right for me?

What I Like

Unlimited Devices
One of Surfshark’s standout features is the possibility of unlimited simultaneous connections. That means no matter how many devices you own, Surfshark has you covered. We are a multi device household all of which use the service. Mobiles, televisions, gaming PC’s laptops and tablets.

Strong Privacy Protections
I like the idea that it operates a strict no-logs policy. It’s  based in the British Virgin Islands which is outside major surveillance alliances offering CleanWeb to block ads, trackers, and malware.

Great for Streaming and Travel
I won’t lie to you, my main reason for purchasing a VPN back in the day was for Netflix access and browsing other countries and vice versa, being able to watch my usual Netflix when abroad. I tried several but Netflix would soon catch on and the access would be blocked and I’d be asked to switch off my VPN. Surfshark has had this nailed from day one. On one occasion I was unable to watch BBC and one online chat resolved this. Fast speeds made it a good choice for 4K viewing too.

Budget-Friendly
I have always found Surfshark to be Super Affordable, but to make the most of that, you need to commit to a long term plan which I have never had a problem with. I usually renew and haven’t changed my mind just yet!

Interface Can Be Basic
Some people feel Surfshark’s app is e—great for beginners—but power users might find it lacks some of the advanced customization options offered by other VPNs.

What I Don’t Like

Occasional Speed Drops
Although this sounds very bad! It isn’t really. Whist speeds can drop, it is usually resolved with a good old fashioned “turn the toggle off and on again.” In my experience, and prolonged connection seems to drop or slow down and resetting it tends to refresh whatever is going on. The only issue with that is, if like me you sometimes forget your VPN is turned on and your mobile banking won’t connect, It can cause a panic!

Newer Player in the Game
Surfshark is relatively new in comparison to the likes of NordVPN  and Express VPN but that’s I chose to write this Blog. Sometimes people get hung up on the big brands and can  end up paying more for less for the sake of a name but if that’s your thing, it could be a negative however, I’m here to tell you I have trust in these guys.

My Thoughts

Surfshark VPN strikes a great balance between affordability, privacy, and ease of use. It’s ideal for everyday users who want to protect their data, access global content, and browse with peace of mind. While it may not have every bell and whistle, it delivers where it counts—and does so with style.
